Back to Button Brooches

I have been making these brooches because they are relatively quick and easy to tat and look so effective.  The pattern is Jane's and can be found here.  They are also a really nice size and look just as good on coats as well as jumpers and dresses etc.

Thank you for all the helpful comments with regard to 'hooks with hats' , will have to discuss with 'Im in the garage' and let you know what he is prepared to do, have to keep him very sweet especially now the garage is so cold!

In a previous blog post I showed you some mistletoe hanging in the church office and there was a cartoon underneath it.  I couldn't find that particular cartoon on this computer, but I did find this one which is even better because it is so true. People have the habit of just dumping things on and around my desk,  lost property, broken items as well as paperwork. The best one is the chair 'for those who like to stop and chat during busy periods', there is such a chair and it is exactly what happens!  And also the computer is 9 years old!

I'm getting well behind with Jan's TIAS so must catch up either later on today or tomorrow!

  1. I love the illlustration, especially the 'every hymnal known to humankind'.

    1. Yes and I have a bookcase which contains a varied amount of hymn books as each church has a different one, or in some cases more than one!

  2. ah yes, and you never want to have a clean desk, because someone will decide that the empty spot is just the right place for what they are carrying. doesn't matter if it belongs there or not.
Best wishes for a tidy office he he

    1. So so true! Sounds like such a good excuse for being untidy!

  3. Beautiful brooches! You're definitely an expert with beads and also have an eye for color combinations. I'm looking forward to doing these. I've got the beads, buttons and thread. I just need the quiet time to concentrate, as I have to hone my beading skills.

The cartoon is very funny. It's amazing now to see how big (and slow) the 'old' computers were. Apparently you're still using one at the church? To use a phrase, "God bless you!" Also for dealing with all that confusion! Love the goalposts!

  4. Once you get going with the brooches you will love doing them beads and all Kathy.
Oh yes there is certainly confusion in a church office, as for the computer well one day it will just stop.
Fortunately I don't have the goal posts but frequently I walk in to find some very strange things in there belonging to any of the groups that meet in the church complex!
