100th Blog Anniversary
To celebrate my 100th post and to thank all of you out there who have been so supportive to me and "I'm in the garage" over the past 17 months, we are giving away two prizes, each comprising of a hand made tatting shuttle. One will be a Pop-A-bobbin shuttle and the other will be a post shuttle. So there will be two winners. The shuttles will be put in one of these specially decorated boxes.
It is good to win something you really want, and some of you prefer using a post shuttle rather than a shuttle with a bobbin. So in order for that to happen you have the option to choose which type of shuttle you would like and which box. So when you comment please put either "Post" for Post shuttle or "Pop" for Pop-A-bobbin shuttle. However, if you don't mind which shuttle, you will have a double chance to win, as your entry will be put in for both, so in that case please do not put a preference.
As for the box, if you have a preference for the colour then just put either pink, blue, turquoise or yellow beside your comment, again if you ae not that bothered then there is no need to put down a colour.
Now the only choice you will not have is the type of wood the shuttles are made out of, otherwise this would get so complicated and it would not be easy to please everyone either! Both shuttles are made out of cedar taken from this tree. This is the tree that the Rev Awdry famous author of the "Thomas the Tank Engine" books more than likely played around when he was a child, especially as his father was vicar of the church, which stands next to it.
I am giving you until Saturday 31st July, and will not accept any entries after that date. So good luck and please don't forget to come back to this post to see who has won, just in case it is yew, oh sorry I mean you!
Oh, my, please I would love to be entered in the drawing. Having a shuttle from the Awdry tree would be so special, and well, all of your shuttles are special. Either shuttle style is fine, and either turquoise or pink box.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 100th post! YIPPE SKIPPEE! I would be happy with either one because I have 2 pop a bobbins and I also collect post bobbins and I'd love one of those as well. So either one would be thrilling to win! This would be a super duper fabulous win! :D
ReplyDelete~TattingChic ♥
I'd love to be entered in your drawing. And if lucky enough to win, the teal or yellow box would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteWow can you believe you've hit 100 posts? Please enter me in either draw and yellow would be nice for the box. This is an amazing give away!
ReplyDeleteOh my, please enter me in this amazing drawing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on publishing your 100th post! I remember your first post like it was yesterday. Little did we know then what a marvelous journey you and "I'm in the garage" would take us on. We are the fortunate ones.
As it happens, today is my birthday. If lucky enough to win, either style Aubrey shuttle is fine and pink, blue or turquoise for the box.
I would love to be entered and am not fussy about shuttle type or box color. I love the idea that the wood came from the tree that the Rev. Awdry played around as the Thomas the Tank book was huge in this house for many years. Thanks for the contest and more than that, thanks for the lovely blog - it and the others like it are constant inspiration for a new tatter.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be entered in your drawing. Congratulations on publishing your 100th post!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I love reading your Blog. If I won, any would be fine with me. I like them all:)

Congratulations on your 100th post. I have enjoyed reading your posts over the last 99 reading about you, "I'm in the garage", the church history and about tatting activities. Back about 30/35 years ago, I visited many of the churches and Cathedrals in and around South Hampton when I visited my grandmother and Aunt that lived at Hill Head. (I did review so of your earlier posts to see if I could figure out where you are at and saw a reference to Romsey Abbey - was there.) Would love to win one of your shuttles (made from English wood) from your blog give away. So hope you have many more entries and good luck. Robert Kent, in northern Iowa. ReplyDeleteI've never learned to shuttle tat (can do needle tatting) -- would _love_ to win either of the shuttles (since I don't know enough to know which to choose:). Lovely boxes, too. I am easy - would be thrilled to win any of it.
Interesting story about the cedar tree source for your shuttles - my kids are just on the too old side for Thomas stories. ;)
Linda
I would be tickled pink to win either shuttle.

ReplyDeleteI learned to embroider last fall, and tatting is my goal this year. I adore the delicate designs and tatted jewelry I see around the web. You have some amazing pieces here.
I would be fine with either shuttle as it would be the one I would learn with.
The yellow and turquoise boxes are my favorites :)

Your little boxes are so pretty, Sally I collect little boxes (trinket boxes) and would love to have one of these. I've only done a little bit of tatting, so don't know enough to have a preference for a shuttle, so either one is good for me. I try to stay away from pink, so no pink box for me! Thanks for counting me in.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 100 posts. I am usually a lurker rather than a commenter. Put me down for anything. All your stuff is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteGratz on your 100th post. I am a new reader and also a needle tatter, but I would love to learn on a shuttle and yours are just beautiful. I also adore the blue box on top, and would love to enter your giveaway. If you were to pick me I think I would like the POP shuttle. Again gratz on your 100th post. Keep up the great work :)

I would like to be put in for the "Pop" shuttle and the blue or yellow box.

Congratulations on your 100th blog. Such a lovely way to commerate the occasion. Ah.. Thomas...I remember! Should I be a lucky one, I would have to tat an engine and share it, and 'tree' story with the great-grandchild who ate and slept the adventures and took me along for the ride.
ReplyDeleteI cannot make a choice,so I offer no preference
Thank you, BarbE
Congratulations on reaching this milestone! I always enjoy reading your blog. I have one of your pop-a-bobbin shuttles from the same cedar tree, and it's lonely...it needs a mate from back home! If I should win, please send the post shuttle and the turquoise box (although all of them are equally lovely!). Thanks for such a generous give-away!
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in your giveaway - I have been learning to tat and do not have a good shuttle - I would be so blessed - I am not picky - any will do

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finding the extra time to make 100 posts.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for letting me have a chance at one of the gorgeous shuttles, either of them since they all look fantastic.
Your 100th ~ how wonderful. You know how much I like your blog; as I've expressed my appreciation in the past. I always learn something new and eye candy, too. I haven't any specific choices and only one comment as to color on box ~ not pink. LOL I'm not a pink person for some unknown reason. But there are a lot of people who LOVE pink and that makes it not wrong, just different.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a good and happier time and admire your stamina to carry on and celebrate your 100th. My love and best wishes, even if I don't win...
oops lightening and thunder, better get off this computer!
love and prayers BJ
Congratulations on your 100th post! I'd be happy to win either shuttle and I really like the yellow box. Thank you for the opportunity to have another "I'm in the Garage" creation packaged in one of your beautiful boxes!

This is the first 100 with many, many more to come. They say the first 100 are the hardest. Now that they are done the rest should be easier.
ReplyDeleteI would love to own either of the shuttles and think all the boxes are beautiful! But the yellow with the orange caught my eye. (I usually pick turquoise, but this time it's yellow with orange.) Many thanks!

Oh, I just found your blog -- I love the internet and finding these wonderful fellow tatters! -- and love the shuttles! Please include me in your drawings. Do you sell the shuttles, too? Can't wait to read the rest of your old posts. Thanks for your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteWhew! Just squeaking in at the end -- that's what happens when vacations interrupt important blog reading. I'd love to win a shuttle because it's hard to get up in the wee hours of the morning to shop when Jane put's 'em up! Besides, the little boxes are sooooo pretty.
ReplyDeleteOh, how exciting! I would love to win either type of shuttle, and all of the boxes are beautiful! I have no preference, if I should be lucky enough to win. Of course, I think it would be fabulous if a non-tatter won and learned how to tat!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 100 posts. I like reading the information you share. I get to learn interesting things as well as see some tatting. I have no preference as to shuttle type or box color. I'd just be happy to win. Karen in OR
ReplyDeleteI'm a new tatter and could easily be addicted and I'm easy so any would do. What a nice prize!
