Buttons and Butterflies
Thank you to all who entered the give-away, and I hope you found it fun. I can now tell you that there were 294 buttons in the teddy bear jar, and here they all are, so you can count them for yourself! The winner is Patty C, as she was the nearest, and yes you were right Patty there were lots of little ones hidden away. Please can you e.mail me on popabobbinshuttle@gmail.com.
I decided that the metal clips on the top of the pew ends in this post needed to be hidden, or at least decorated, so I have made eight butterflies, they have not been sewn on yet. Also six more button flowers are required to be made for the ribbons and then hopefully the pew ends will be completed, no idea when this is going to happen as my days are extremely busy at the moment. The butterflies are doing a circle dance before they part company.

You've been busy between counting buttons and making butterflies and working on pew ends!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic idea putting the butterflies in a circle like that. SOOO pretty I may have to make it into a doily myself - somehow, sometime!!!! That's a lotta buttons in one jar!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like this butterfly pattern of Jane's and the way you've varied the bead colors is very effective. And congratulations, Patty C!
ReplyDeleteI also love your butterfly pattern, I knew I would never get near to the number of buttons, congratulations to the winner and well done for getting so near the number.

I love the butterflies in a circle! What a great idea! Congratulations to Patty C! I admit, I'm relieved that my guess wasn't anywhere near close to being right... I'd have to figure out what to do with all those buttons!
ReplyDeleteYour butterflies in a circle are very pretty. I agree with Jane, it would make a lovely doily. I once saw someone tat a butterfly edging/bunting by joining all the butterflies by their wing tips.
ReplyDeleteWow, so many buttons!! - but I remember a maths teacher in a past century telling me sadly that spatial awareness was a sign of high intelligence, and it was such a pity that I didn't have any! I always failed those tests.
ReplyDeleteThe butterflies look lovely in a circle, wouldn't they make a wonderful edging attached to one of those linen centres
