Ring of Roses Bracelet

Yes this is the same title as Jane's blog post for today as I have also tatted her wonderful bracelet pattern. I really do recommend that you do too.   










The top one was the first one I made for Summer and the one below it is more for Autumn wear.    This is when it is really such an advantage having plenty of beads to choose from!

    I notice you put the beads more on the picots than on the core threads. I like that style better, too. I guess it looks too much like dashes when beads are on the core threads.

Renulek Doily finished

I finished this doily a few days ago but I am actually not that happy with it, the thing is the  piece really needs damping, blocking and a good press.  This should not be needed but I think some parts of the pattern did not work that well.  I have used three makes of thread on this doily Manuela, Coats and Lizbeth all 20.

St. Andrews and Advent Giveaway

Today is quite special for many reasons it is Advent Sunday in the Church.  Advent is a term from the Latin word 'adventus' which means "arrival".  It is a time of waiting for the arrival of Christmas and is associated mainly with Advent Calendars and in particular the fun of opening to see what is revealed behind each number!  Whilst in Scotland the people are celebrating St. Andrew's day as he is the Patron Saint of Scotland.  Google has marked the day with a doodle of the Flying Scotsman - the world famous steam locomotive.
