The shuttles that I mentioned in my last blog post are now on sale in Jane's Etsy shop.       I think she must be eager to get them posted before the Christmas rush, so please help her!



I have also been making her 'Teeny Tiny snowflake' which you will find here .  The ones you see below I have tatted using two threads together, one plain and one glitter, although the sparkle does not always show up that well.  Also some of them are coming out not so 'tiny' as the original.









A lovely pattern and I can see many more appearing from my shuttles in the next week or so.

    I've made a few of them too and found them to be quite fun. I didn't think of glittery thread though! Duh. Yours are adorable!

Renulek Doily finished

I finished this doily a few days ago but I am actually not that happy with it, the thing is the  piece really needs damping, blocking and a good press.  This should not be needed but I think some parts of the pattern did not work that well.  I have used three makes of thread on this doily Manuela, Coats and Lizbeth all 20.

St. Andrews and Advent Giveaway

Today is quite special for many reasons it is Advent Sunday in the Church.  Advent is a term from the Latin word 'adventus' which means "arrival".  It is a time of waiting for the arrival of Christmas and is associated mainly with Advent Calendars and in particular the fun of opening to see what is revealed behind each number!  Whilst in Scotland the people are celebrating St. Andrew's day as he is the Patron Saint of Scotland.  Google has marked the day with a doodle of the Flying Scotsman - the world famous steam locomotive.
