Fandango progress
Not much progress has been made because other things have got in the way of tatting. After taking a week to do the first round I discovered that I had used the wrong size thread, it was 40 instead of 20. The scissors were just about to do their worst when Jane said, it probably will not make much difference, press it and see. So I did and will carry on.
Apart from tatting I am eager to get back to sewing since purchasing this new machine, hope you can see the lego one in front of it!
I have not forgotten about the giveaway I promised, it is happening, just been a bit busy to sort anything out.
Your fandango is lovely, I'm glad Jane caught you before you snipped!
ReplyDeleteSo am I Michelle - it was a close shave though!
Deletetatting looks great this one and the one Diane is making look so similar at first I thought they were the same, I guess you can work the colors the same way and this is beautiful love the colors and can't wait to see what you make with the new sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteMy main aim is to finish off my sons's shirt which has been on the go for the last two years. Now at the buttonhole stage and this machine makes them automatically!
DeleteA Lego Sewing Machine? - that has to be your son's work!
ReplyDeleteCorrect Maureen and a specially commissioned one!
DeleteYour doily looks wonderful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteNeat matching sewing machines! :)
Thanks God's kid
Deletei like the colors you've chosen for your doily. I'm glad you posted about the size difference in the thread. I was thinking of combining Lizbeth with Lizbeth Twirlz, but I wasn't sure if I could make it work. The Twirlz is a bit finer. Love the new sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteDiane I don't recommend using difference size thread, really cross at myself for not looking at the label!!! Have been enjoying watching your doily progress.
DeleteYour Fandango doily is coming along nicely. I'm surprised that thread sizes 20 and 40 are working so well together. That's good to know. I've got to remember to show my grandson your picture of your new sewing machine with the Lego version.
ReplyDeleteThanks Eliz, I'm also surprised that the thread worked, sometimes I have to believe what my sister says!!! My son makes lots of things out of lego and he will be 40 in June - but he does sell the pieces, although not sewing machines!
