Still tatting the doily!

I am making very little progress on Renulek's doily, because I have very little time to sit and tat it!  However, I am a little further on than this picture shows, a quarter of the way along the next row.   



The round is complicated so making even slower progress.







The pop-a-bobbin shuttles continue to sell well and I am hoping that now the weather is warmer more can be made in the garage.

    I completely understand, I am struggling to tat things with warmer weather and having to mow my lawn and I too am trying make shuttles. Your doily is very nice and will be worth the wait🍃🦋🍃

    I have seen other tatters reach this stage and am impressed with the way it looks at this point. I'd be tempted to say it is finished, because it's an eye-catching and unusual edge. However, I know it goes on to greater glory. I do give you credit for staying the course!

    Glad to know the shuttles are still popular!

    Love this color - it’s so rich-looking. I’m just finishing the next round - hard to keep going at this point because it seems like it takes F O R E V E R to get around now!

As I said in my last post I had another idea for a design and this one is very seasonal, and yes as Jane McLellan said there is a huge gap between the original idea and the final product, but I don't find that gap fun at all!  I have worked on this particular idea all week between preparing for Holy Week and children's activities, and also having a massive Spring clean in certain areas of the house.  I even spent hours removing wood dust off the freezer washing machine and surrounding areas in the garage, when 'Im in the garage was out, you have no idea what mess he makes in there to produce shuttles! So the result is these two button eggs, well I hope you recognise them as such!  I showed the first one to several people but did not say what it was supposed to be and they all said it was a pendant.  I was rather deflated at that, but how would they know what I was trying to design?  I then came up with the second button egg.  So which one should I run with?...

My Christmas present was finished yesterday, well my second Christmas present as the first was taken away to London by my son!  This wooden lego man stands 45 cm tall and is quite heavy. Here he is wearing a tatted necklace A closer view of the necklace I am very pleased with the way the necklace turned out and will be making more when I can find the pattern that I very quickly wrote out.
