Pop-a-bobbins
Here are the latest shuttles to have been made, they are nearing the quality control stage, i.e. I have to test them. Some are promised to people who have emailed me, just need to see if they are still interested, after such a long wait! I am afraid 'Im in the Garage' is very slow at making them these days and the cold weather will set in soon so the garage will have to be heated and production even slower.
At the adult craft sessions I organise one of the materials they use is wood and this is what one of them made using the technique of pyrography.
I must say it is great having such a wide selection of wood around us and even more pleasing when those who are so artistic enhance it with their extraordinary talents.
Such a beautiful array of woods used in the shuttles. They always fly off the shelves, I’m sure they’re worth waiting for.
ReplyDeleteIt is the colours that catch your eye Jane and yes I am sure they will sell, but need to do that bit slowly!
DeleteIt's great to have talent "in the garage" isn't it? My "'Im" is puzzling through fixing my organ so I can practice at home (more time to tat, less time driving to the churches)!
ReplyDeleteThe garage is indeed useful! Ah shame he is not nearer perhaps to help you with fixing your organ. Our churches are so cold when there isn't a service so as well as driving to get to them, practicing also is quite uncomfortable in this weather!
DeleteI need more! I only have 19. Hehe. I wish I knew how to make those. I retired and put in a woodworking shop out back. I have to learn how to make things, but more importantly, how to finish them. Will keep an eye on those Pop-A-Bobbins, though.
ReplyDeleteI am sure you don't need more Tim!
DeleteI'd love the yellow one! What wood is that, Sally?
ReplyDeleteIt is made from Mahonia Maureen, beautiful colour isn't it!?
DeleteSally, St David's cathedral in Hobart, where my grandson was christened last year, has heated pews!! It's quite amazing, sitting down and feeling the heat . There appeared to be switches on each pew, no doubt I will be returning next year for another christening, so I intend to have a good look!
ReplyDeleteI don't "need" any more shuttles, but I may see one that catches my eye! :-)
