A bit of a break

I have not posted anything for a long time on this blog, mainly because I got out of the routine and then suddenly all other routines in life went when the pandemic struck.  So I found these earrings which I made using the thread from Singapore. I have done other tatting but have lost some of the items in the past week or two since tidying up!

    Good to see your tatting. This has been a strange Lent and Eastertide.
    Ah! That can be my excuse! I'm not tidying my tatting because I don't want to lost anything. Well, it's a thought.....

There are many reasons I have not kept up this blog, one being that I have to now recover the email that was originally used to set it up, so not exactly sure if any comments will be seen or recovered.  The other is that I keep up numerous facebook accounts (other groups) plus twitter and instagram so not much room in my life to blog! Reversable Necklace

After a long break from tatting button necklaces I have gone back to them, they are so relaxing to make and every single one is unique.  My latest one is reversible, the first picture shows the right side of the button. The second picture shows the reverse side which looks just as good. I have placed two buttons in the middle to show what they look like both sides. This necklace is, so far, my favourite. I used Karey Solomon's thread which I bought at Tat Days last year, it is called watermelon.  Although I think the colours remind me more of Summer flowers, something like these that were given to me a few weeks ago.         Two of my necklaces are in Jane's Etsy shop , although  they have to be worn to show them off to the best effect.  Now shall I start another one?!

The Cedar Tree

As you all must know by now, unless you have been on another planet! The Pop-A-bobbin shuttles are in full production and there are quite a few different woods they are being made out of, which I will try and list soon. Some woods we have bought locally and others have been purchased from overseas. Sharren Morgan asked for a cedar shuttle when the last batch were being made, and so far she is the only person to own one made out of this particular wood. The cedar tree that the wood came from is in these two pictures. As you can see it is very near to the church. About 18 months ago the tree had to have a huge branch cut off it because it was dangerously close to falling on the church and doing considerable damage, particularly as there is stained glass window that would have been badly damaged if it had fallen.
