Ah yes it is, I watched some of president Biden's inauguration on television yesterday. Actually whilst finding a place to put these new pieces I discovered some of last years tatting which I could not find before Christmas!
There are many reasons I have not kept up this blog, one being that I have to now recover the email that was originally used to set it up, so not exactly sure if any comments will be seen or recovered. The other is that I keep up numerous facebook accounts (other groups) plus twitter and instagram so not much room in my life to blog! However, a comment from Maureen on my sister's blog has prompted me to post the dress we have each bought and how we have embellished it with a bit of tatting.
Sadly I only sold one pair of earrings on Saturday at the Christmas Fayre and that was a Christmas wreath pair. Such a shame as I spent days before the event frantically making square shaped earrings which are now put away in a box, unless I can find people who would like them. The main problem was that there was poor attendance at the Fayre and those that came were not really interested in purchasing tatted items. But for a change some of my tatted brooches sold. However, none of the necklaces that I have just made went including this one. Mind you it looks more like a bridal set than just for every day wear! Will show you some of the other necklaces soon that I have made using the beads that came from Singapore. Apart from this one I will probably wear the others myself.
After a long break from tatting button necklaces I have gone back to them, they are so relaxing to make and every single one is unique. My latest one is reversible, the first picture shows the right side of the button. The second picture shows the reverse side which looks just as good. I have placed two buttons in the middle to show what they look like both sides. This necklace is, so far, my favourite. I used Karey Solomon's thread which I bought at Tat Days last year, it is called watermelon. Although I think the colours remind me more of Summer flowers, something like these that were given to me a few weeks ago. Two of my necklaces are in Jane's Etsy shop , although they have to be worn to show them off to the best effect. Now shall I start another one?!
2021 is starting out quite exciting for us! Congratulations on finishing your give-away pile. Now to find a good place to store them!! Good luck!
