Not Tatting!

I have not picked up a tatting shuttle for over a fortnight now as I've been crocheting these Lego tissue box holders for a Christmas Market.  I do hope they sell as really value my time and hope it has not been wasted, especially giving up other crafts for them.











I am aiming to make at least a dozen, but finding that just 8 of them are taking up so much room.  So used to tatting which can be put into the smallest space.

    They are such a great idea! - so many children - and their parents - are addicted to Lego, I'm sure they'll sell. My youngest son is indulging himself with Lego sets, and justifies it by saying that it is all for my five-year-old grandson. Even the big electronic sets which are for teenagers......

      Maureen we bought our 41 year old a lego car to make for his birthday. He also sells lego figures on his website musicalbrick.com. Not to mention the fact that 'im in the garage makes huge lego wooden men. Now even more crazy in our house with all these tissue box holders!

    Hi Sally,
    I thought you had been quiet for a long time, now I know why! I still love Lego which our daughters played with some 40 odd years ago! It fascinates me, I'll have to treat myself to some for Christmas.

    I have to admit that if you hadn't mentioned Lego, I would have wondered why those discs were on top! This is a clever idea! I see there is an excellent tutorial on the web and it shows that the discs are sewn on after crocheting the box. I wonder if you can crochet them on. Your boxes are very nicely done, and, of course, are colorful! I do believe these would sell right away!

Remember, Remember, the 5th November!

In England we mark this day with bonfires and fireworks, although as the years have gone by it is less and less observed.   The reason we are called to remember the 5th November is that on this day in 1605 Guy Fawkes was caught in the cellars of the Houses of Parliament, London with several dozen barrels of gunpowder. Guy Fawkes was subsequently tried as a traitor with his co-conspirators for plotting against the  government . Which is the reason why a 'Guy' is made by stuffing newspaper into some old clothes to look like a man and then it is put on the top of the bonfire.  Remember, remember, the 5th of November The Gunpowder Treason and plot; I see of no reason why Gunpowder Treason Should ever be forgot.
